Alhamdulillah, we had a great session last week. We worked on the recitation of Surah Yasin as well as reviewed / learned the following rules:
1. Qalqalah
2. Heavy Letters and Light Letters
Qalqalah
When there is a sukoon on top of one of the following letters: ق – ط – ب – ج – د , there is an echo. None of the other letters should have an echo when they have sukoon
Heavy Letters
There are a few letters that are formed by pursing your lips and making an aww sound similar the sound of the letter a in the word ball. These letters are : خ ص – ض غ ط – ق ظ. All other letters are light letters that make the sound of a as in apple.
Homework for this week
- Monday Recite verses 16 to 22 of Surah Yasin
- Tuesday Find one word for each letter with Qalqalah and one word for each of the heavy letters and recite them
- Wednesday Recite verses 23 to 29 of Surah Yasin
