On Thursday, we reviewed each student’s homework in class and gave them feedback on their recitations.
This week, we learned about the concepts of Silent Letters (و ا ل ى ).
Rule1:
Whenever there is a standing الف over ی, the ی becomes silent, and the standing Alif is pronounced. E.g. موسیٰ is pronounced as موسا.
Rule 2:
Whenever there is a standing الف on top of a pointed tooth, it is recited as a Madd. E.g. فَسَوَّىٰهَا is pronounced as فَسَوَّاهَا
Next class, we will continue with “Silent Letters”, inshaAllah.
