Letters: ی and ء
vocabulary words: أسد اﻟﻠﻪ (lion of Allah) and ﻳﻘﻴﻦ (certainty)
Storytime:
HAMZA: Kids were introduced to Hamza with a short poem and story to demonstrate how it’s a special letter that doesn’t change its shape but can be found on its own or sitting on top of or below other letters.
YA: Story of having Yaqeen in Allah in difficult and challenging times in our lives.
Object lesson:
HAMZA: kids had a craft in honor Imam Ali through his title أسد اﻟﻠﻪ which begins with the letter HAMZA.
YA: We had a demonstration for the kids with a small cutie. The cutie floats when it has its peel on, and sinked without the peel. We explained to the kids that the orange peel is our certainty and trust in Allah’s guidance. With Allah’s help he will keep us floating and help us even in our most challenging times. Kids each had a turn to think of something personally challenging to them and drop the orange in the water.
