Alif Ba Land:
A magical place where the alphabet comes alive. In order to enter, kids must recite the alphabet song in some form, yesterday it was by reciting all the letter names and the letter sound with Fatha.
Kids were introduced to the short vowel Kasra. Kasra makes the short “iy” sound as in the word “eat” or “me’
Reading Practice:
Kids read 2-3 letter Kasra words.
We encourage parents to dedicate 2-3 minutes and sit with the child and identify letters with Fatha and Kasra within the Quranic text itself. Make it an exciting time where the child feels the joy of reading straight from the Qur’an!
Object Lesson:
اهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ (1:6)
The sixth verse of Suratul Fatiha begins with the kasra sound! We recite this 5x a day and make dua to Allah to keep us the straight path.
