Alif Ba Land:
Friday, we reviewed our letters with an alphabet maze. Kids sang the Alphabet song for each maze to see which one was the correct order.
Short Vowel Dhammah:
Kids were introduced to the short vowel Dhammah. It makes the short “oo” sound as in the word “zoo.” We had many fun riddles to get the kids familiar with the sound of dhammah.
Object Lesson:
ٱللَّهُ نُورُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ
“Allah is the light of the heavens and the earth,”
Surah Al Noor, Ayah 35
To seek Allah’s noor to enlighten ourselves, we must strive, reach out, and connect with Him. Allah is so kind. When we try, He blesses us with the noor of His guidance and a connection with Him. We can keep our connection strong with what makes Allah happy.
We tried showing this with a plasma ball. By reaching out and touching it, there’s an amazing display of a spark inside the ball. Kids were fascinated with the display and learned that our Ibadah(prayers), along with our actions and behavior with our fellow humans, keep our connection with Allah strong.
